Terms and Conditions

These terms explain how Fixakitchen handles commercial kitchen equipment repair call-outs, diagnosis fees, quotes, parts, warranties, payment and customer approval in Cape Town.

Before we attend site

Clear repair terms for commercial equipment call-outs.

These terms are written so customers understand what is included in a call-out, what needs approval, and when payment is due. Any special arrangement confirmed in writing on a quote or invoice will apply to that specific job.

01

Call-Outs and Diagnosis

Call-out and advanced fault diagnosis starts from R750 unless a different rate is confirmed before attendance.

Diagnosis includes assessment of the fault, testing where practical and a recommended repair direction. Repair work, parts and additional labour are quoted or approved separately.

02

Quotes, Parts and Customer Approval

Parts availability, pricing and lead times can change. Fixakitchen will not carry out additional repair work without customer approval.

Specialist, custom or imported parts may require upfront payment before ordering. Once approved and ordered, some parts may not be refundable.

03

Site Access and Safety

Customers must provide safe access to the equipment, power supply, water, drainage and the surrounding work area.

Work may be paused or rescheduled if the site is unsafe, inaccessible, too restricted to work properly, or if required services cannot be isolated safely.

04

Warranties

Warranty applies only to the specific repair or part supplied by Fixakitchen. It depends on correct use, suitable installation conditions and no unrelated faults affecting the same equipment.

Existing faults, misuse, poor ventilation, water quality problems, electrical supply faults, blocked drains and customer-supplied parts are excluded unless confirmed otherwise in writing.

05

Third-Party Intervention and Multi-Quote Policy

A Fixakitchen diagnosis and repair quote is based on the condition of the equipment at the time we inspect it. If another technician, handyman, staff member or service provider opens, strips, adjusts, repairs, resets or powers up the equipment after our inspection, the original diagnosis and quote may no longer apply.

Faulty commercial equipment can suffer further damage if it is powered up or handled before the root cause is repaired. This can include blown fuses, damaged wiring, failed electronic control boards, tripped electrical systems, compressor damage, motor damage or other secondary faults. Fixakitchen is not responsible for damage, additional faults or safety issues caused by third-party handling, customer interference, unauthorised repairs or continued operation after our inspection.

If the customer asks Fixakitchen to continue after another party has inspected or worked on the equipment, a new call-out and re-inspection fee will apply. The machine must be tested again because its condition may have changed and new hidden faults may have been introduced.

06

Payment

Call-out and diagnostic fees are payable on the same day as the service visit unless a different arrangement has been confirmed in writing before attendance. Labour, approved repairs and approved parts are payable according to the quote or invoice terms.

Call-out, diagnosis, labour and approved parts remain payable even if the customer decides not to proceed with a full repair after assessment. End-of-month account billing is available only to approved clients on a monthly Corporate Maintenance Plan or another written account agreement with Fixakitchen.

07

Brands and Manufacturer Status

Brand names are used to describe equipment familiarity, repair experience and search intent. Fixakitchen does not claim manufacturer endorsement unless this is specifically stated in writing.
