Commercial fridge faults

Why Commercial Fridges Stop Cooling

Common causes include dirty condensers, failed fans, damaged door seals, blocked drains, controller faults, low refrigerant or compressor problems. Fixakitchen offers commercial refrigeration repairs in Cape Town.

Before parts are replaced

Start with airflow, temperature and controls

A warm cabinet does not automatically mean a failed compressor or low refrigerant. We first compare the displayed temperature with the cabinet temperature, check whether the evaporator and condenser fans run, inspect the condenser for blocked airflow and look for heavy ice around the evaporator. Door seals, recent stock loading and frequent door opening can also prevent recovery.

If the unit trips power, smells hot or has damaged wiring, switch it off and arrange a qualified assessment. Refrigerant work and live electrical testing should not be used as a trial-and-error repair.
